Sitra organised the World Circular Economy Forum in Helsinki on 3-5 June 2019. The WCEF2019 brought together around 2,000 circular economy influencers from around the world. At the heart of the world's third Circular Economy Forum were the global scaling of circular economy solutions and the next era of the circular economy.

The Circular Economy Centre was responsible for organising the Side Event that focused on the industrial circular economy at the Central Library Oodi on Wednesday 5 June.

The main objective of the event is to provide a forum in which to discuss and exchange experiences about developing the Eco Industrial Parks. After a short introductory segment, the focus will be on the international panel together with the presenters and the attendees.

The event was targeted at decision-makers, circular economy practitioners and circular economy experts, who are either responsible for planning and running the Eco Industrial Parks or interested in the development of the Eco Industrial Parks (for example, their operating models, best practices and shared experiences).

Speakers and panelists were Cristina Gaertner, Director, Insite Bavaria, Germany, Per Møller, Head of Symbiosis Center, Denmark, Tero Nissinen, Mayor, City of Kemi, Finland, Arto Peltokorpi, Group CFO and board member at Tapojärvi Oy, Finland, Cristophe Pinck, Head of International Relations, NCE EYDE, Norway and Reeta Huhtinen, Senior Advisor, Turku Business Region.
